Drama Camp

Olivia is old enough now that she gets to choose summer camps. For months, she insisted that she only wanted to go to the summer camps offered by the day care/pre-K that she’s attended since we moved here in 2011.

Then a friend had his birthday party at a local playhouse that offers a kids camp in the summer. Liv agreed to do this camp, only if Jacob did it with her (he’d done the camp last summer and had a blast, so it didn’t take too much convincing).

Then another friend had a performance at a children’s theater that offers a 2-week kids camp in the summer. Liv agreed to do this camp, as long as her friend was going to be there.

Olivia loved her week at the playhouse with Jacob–they put on a production of Dr Seuss’ The Sneetches. She’s just begun her second week of theater camp, where they are rehearsing for a production of The Jungle Book. She’s been going around singing the songs and telling us about every part of the show. She gets to perform twice this weekend and is so excited! It is such a delight to see her find the things that make her happy!
